A friend and colleague of mine from Foothills Presbytery, Beth Lindsay Templeton, writes a daily prayer to share with others on Facebook. This is her prayer for today. I adopt it as my own as well. Thank you to the volunteers of PCPC who give so willingly to make things happen. I appreciate you more than you could know.
God of all good gifts, thank you for volunteers who work because they love to and not because they have to or they get paid. They inspire us with their dedication and their love. They challenge us with their unique perspectives about life, programs, and issues. They move us with their commitment. They are truly saints among us.
Holy one, call forth in each of us ways to use our talents and passions whether we get financial reward or not. Instill in us the love of using your gifts just for the pure joy and satisfaction of being with you.
